We built DateSteady because dating again, after years away from it, deserves a calm and unhurried place. Fewer games. Clearer checks. One person at a time.
DateSteady works in your web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and there is an app on Google Play. It is available in English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Portuguese and Welsh.
One person at a time
There is no swiping, no countdown and no pressure to answer within the minute. You see one person fully: their photos, their words, and how well you fit.
You choose with three clear buttons: Pass, Like or Flare. A Flare is limited, so when you send one it means something, and it comes with an opener so the first words are easier.
Hear a voice before you meet. Voice and video greetings are free: record a short hello for your profile and listen to theirs. Nobody needs your phone number to hear your voice or see your face. When you both like each other, you are connected, and messaging is free with every connection. Voice and video calls inside DateSteady are part of VIP, which is optional.
See why you fit
A few minutes on your values, your days and what you are hoping for. DateSteady compares your answers with someone else's and shows a compatibility score on their profile. Choose “Why this connection?” to see the reasons, one area at a time: values, relationship goals, lifestyle, location, shared interests and age.
Each area has a plain label: strong alignment, some alignment or lower alignment. A lower area is not a problem. It may simply be a good first question.
The score only uses what you have both chosen to share, and a question someone skipped counts as neutral. You can update your answers whenever your life changes.
Values count for the largest share, then relationship goals, then lifestyle, location and shared interests, then age.
The score shows how your profiles line up. It does not predict attraction, safety or relationship success. Only a conversation can tell you that.
Checks you can read
On DateSteady, trust is not a single badge. It is a list you can read. Every profile shows a Trust Score out of 100 and which checks are done, such as phone, email, age, photos and the selfie check.
Everyone confirms a phone number and gives their date of birth, and you must be 18 or older to join. Nobody can like or send a message until their phone is confirmed. The score goes up as a member completes optional checks, such as the live selfie, a vouch from a friend, a confirmed location, or a voice or video greeting, and as they fill out their profile.
Photos are screened when they are uploaded. Messages are checked for the patterns that romance and investment scams use, and if one appears, the person receiving it gets a quiet prompt. If something feels off, you can ask “Am I being scammed?” right inside DateSteady and get a plain answer about the warning signs and what to do next.
These are safeguards, not guarantees. A selfie check shows a live selfie was compared with the profile photo, not who someone is. We do not run criminal background checks.
Calm by design
Choose how many minutes a day you want to spend here. When you reach your limit, DateSteady suggests a break, and your connections will still be there.
You decide who can message you first: everyone, or only the people you have connected with. If a conversation goes quiet, DateSteady sends a gentle, neutral reminder. If it is not right, you can close a conversation with a short, kind message instead of silence.
You can report or block anyone from their profile or your conversation. Your private messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, and we do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
