Cancellation and Refund Policy
How to cancel a DateSteady subscription, and when a refund is possible. This page says the same thing as section 7, Subscription Tiers and Payment, of our Terms of Service, written in plain language. The Terms of Service is the binding version.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time before your renewal date. Where you cancel depends on who takes your payment.
You bought on our website
Open Settings in your dashboard and choose the subscription management option. You can also email us at support@datesteady.com.
Apple bills you
Cancel in your Apple subscription settings. On your device, open Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. You can also go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. This is the only place an Apple-billed subscription can be cancelled. HoopFrog Inc. cannot cancel it for you, and contacting our support will not stop the renewal.
Google bills you
Cancel in your Google Play subscription settings. Open the Play Store, then Menu, then Subscriptions. You can also go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. The same limit applies here: we cannot cancel it for you.
Important. Deleting your DateSteady account, or simply not logging in, will not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. You have to cancel through that store to stop the payments.
What happens after you cancel
- Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- You keep your paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- There is no partial refund for the part of that period you do not use.
Refunds
In general, charges are not refunded, and there are no credits for a period you only partly used. The exceptions are where the law requires a refund, or where the store you bought from decides to give you one.
Billed on our website
If you believe you were charged in error, email support@datesteady.com within 30 days of the charge.
Billed by Apple
Apple handles these refunds on its own, under Apple's policies. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. HoopFrog Inc. cannot grant, refuse or process a refund for a purchase that Apple billed.
Billed by Google
These refunds follow Google Play's policies, through your Google Play account, and Google sets its own refund window.
If we close an account because it broke our Terms, we do not refund subscription fees, to the extent the law allows. For a subscription billed by a store, any refund is still that store's decision, and you still need to cancel through that store to stop future charges.
Extra rights in some places
Some laws give you rights that nothing in our Terms can remove.
Australia
Under the Australian Consumer Law you have statutory rights to a remedy, including a refund, if digital services are faulty, are not as described, or fail to meet consumer guarantees. Nothing in our Terms excludes or limits those rights.
New Zealand
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, digital services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. You have statutory rights to a remedy if that guarantee is not met. Nothing in our Terms excludes or limits those rights.
California
You may cancel your subscription, without penalty or obligation, at any time before midnight of the third business day after the day you subscribed. If Apple or Google bills you, use that store's cancellation settings, because that is the only thing that can stop the renewal. You may also email support@datesteady.com and we will help you through it. For a subscription billed on our website you may cancel in your dashboard, email support@datesteady.com, or write to HoopFrog Inc., Attn: Cancellations, 3-11 Bellerose Drive, Suite 312, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada T8N 5C9. In accordance with Cal. Civ. Code §1789.3, you may report complaints to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N112, Sacramento, CA 95834, USA.
